What to wear for your Headshot Photo Session

Business casual in solid colors look the best

  • Darker colors are preferred like Black, navy blue

  • A dark suit jacket (black, gray or navy), white or light colored shirt (ironed) with no undershirt showing is great.

  • whites, ivory, beige

  • Grey, mauves and browns

  • Avoid bright colors like neon yellow or green and busy pattern clothes.

Fit and length

  • The clothing should always be very well-fitted. Loose, baggy, or puffy clothing will always make you look bigger than you really are, which isn’t flattering at all. This especially holds true for people with curvier or larger body types. I know the instinct is to try and hide their body behind loose clothing, but that doesn’t work at all. Loose or baggy clothes do not look good on anyone in photos.

  • Check your accessories like earrings, bracelet, wrist watch, ring, necklace, shoes. It’s great idea to get a comfortable shoes and heel as well for different looks.
